As the son of a federal officer and the grandson of a serious NRA supporter, both of whom are Christians, I have been raised in a family that supports both recreational shooting as well as an American's right to bear arms. As I tell everyone, I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.
I have had the privilege to shoot many types of firearms and while my dad prefers his H&K duty weapon, I am a hardcore GLOCK fan. I have shot every GLOCK model and my personal choice is the 23 (.40 compact). I still shoot the best with the 17, the full size 9mm, however I like having a larger caliber and a smaller gun in order to conceal easier. I have shot the subcompacts as well and although they are a bit easier to conceal, my target acquisition and accuracy suffer. The recoil from the .45 also hinders my accuracy. For me, it's the 23. I have an inside the belt holster that I can draw very well from, but I also have an under the arm holster when my attire requires the extra concealment.
A secondary that I recommend is the Kel-Tec P-3AT. This one never leaves my person unless it would be unlawful to carry (and even that is bent from time to time). This gun is extremely easy to conceal. I have the bolt-on clip mounted on the slide and it looks identical to a knife when clipped to my pocket. It can also clip to the top of my boots or inside the waistband of jogging shorts, sweatpants, or backpack. It takes some practice to master this gun as it has a very long trigger pull from the factory and because it is so small.
IF GUNS ARE OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS.
