GLOCK 27
I have worked for a police department for the past fifteen years. In that time we have changed duty weapons three times. I started my career carrying a Beretta 92. About five years ago, the department moved to the GLOCK 17. Last year, the department gave the option to move to the GLOCK 22. I couldn't have been happier.
For concealed carry, I have a GLOCK 27 with an inside the belt holster. It fits comfortably on my hip (when I am wearing an un-tucked button-down or a light jacket) or at the small of my back (when I am wearing an un-tucked t-shirt). I usually have it in the holster with a 10-round magazine but also carry one or two of my G22 (15-rounds) full-sized magazines which fits into the subcompact and only extends an inch or two beyond the grip.
I have put over a thousand rounds through the GLOCK 27 and have only had a handful of stove pipes (usually when I have gone with cheap ammo). I own handguns in just about every caliber and, I just truly enjoy the all around usefulness of the GLOCK 27.
Webmaster note: Anyone who owns any gun, including a GLOCK that has a "hand full" of stovepipes in a thousand rounds, should have the gun checked out by a competent gunsmith or try changing the mags. A hand full of stovepipes is too many for a carry pistol.
